Ford F-150 Lightning Gets Additional Power & Range
Good news for Ford F-150 Lightning customers who have pre-ordered the newest all-electric vehicle from Ford, as the Lightning will now offer even more power and range than initially announced. The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning has already entered production as well, and is already starting to arrive at dealerships nationwide.
With a starting price of less than $40,000, the F-150 Lightning is one of the best deals in the new electric pickup truck segment, costing thousands of dollars less than the competition while offering competitive range, power, and features.
The extended-range battery pack F-150 Lightning now produces 580 horsepower, and the standard-range pack delivers 452 horsepower, both up from the originally promised numbers. Both battery packs produce an impressive 775 lb-ft of torque as well, more than any other F-150 ever produced.
The additional battery pack power has allowed Ford to increase the payload capacity of the F-150 Lightning as well, which is up 235 pounds to a total of 2,235 pounds of maximum hauling capacity. The extended-range battery pack also has more range than initially promised, with a 20-mile increase up to 320 total miles of EPA estimated range.
